In their own words…

By Sue Holstein - Bedford | Oct 10, 2020

“With malice toward none, with charity for all.” Abraham Lincoln.

“This is preeminently the time to speak the truth, the whole truth, frankly and boldly. Nor need we shrink from honestly facing conditions in our country today… Let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Franklin Roosevelt.

“The greatest part of the President’s job is to make decisions… He can’t pass the buck to anybody.” Harry Truman.

“Character in many ways is everything in leadership. It is made up of many things, but I would say character is really integrity. Leadership consists of nothing but taking responsibility for everything that goes wrong and giving your subordinates credit for everything that goes well.” Dwight Eisenhower.

“The great enemy of truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived and dishonest – but the myth – persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.” John Kennedy.

“A strong nation, like a strong person, can afford to be gentle, firm, thoughtful, and restrained… It’s a weak nation, like a weak person, that must behave with bluster and boasting and rashness and other signs of insecurity.” Jimmy Carter.

“We are given power not to advance our own purposes nor to make a great show in the world, nor a name. There is but one just use of power and it is to serve people.” George W. Bush.

“The easiest thing to do in politics is to point fingers, to figure out who to blame for something, or to make people afraid of things. That’s the easiest way to get attention.” Barack Obama.

“We need a truly great leader now. We need a leader that wrote The Art of the Deal… And we also need a cheerleader.” “I will be the greatest jobs president that God ever created.” “Nobody knows the system better than me, which is why I alone can fix it.” “The buck stops with everybody.” Donald Trump.

“The White House shouldn’t be a source of oppression and fear. The White House should be a source of moral courage.” “We need presidential leadership that’s honest, trusted, truthful and steady, reassuring leadership.” Joe Biden.

The contrast is clear. We need to elect a leader for our country, not just a cheerleader for himself. Please cast your vote for responsible leadership and decency. Vote for Joe Biden on November 3.
