‘Neglect of duty’

By Connie Owen - Hudson | Sep 26, 2020

Donald Trump has reminded us frequently that while president he cannot be indicted or prosecuted for any crimes. However on January 20, 2017, he took the Presidential Oath of Office in which he committed to legal obligations as part of his position which is required of him by law. It is not material whether the neglect is willful, through malice, ignorance or oversight, when such neglect is grave and the frequency of it is such to endanger or threaten the public welfare.

In his taped conversations with author Robert Woodward, Trump acknowledged that he was fully aware of the fatal risks of the Corona virus early in 2019. He lied willfully and repeatedly to the American people, promoted bogus treatments and dismissed scientific findings.

President Trump’s “neglect of duty” has had devastating effects on individuals, families, schools and businesses directly affected by the COVID-19 virus. Those affected can explore the possibility of participating in class action lawsuits to hold him responsible for many of the damage to the public welfare.
