The bipartisan climate solution

By Katharine Gage - Windham | Aug 8, 2020

With limited time left to shift our energy market off of fossil fuels and over to clean energy to slow global warming, we need a good solution that everyone across the political spectrum can support. A bipartisan solution is required to ensure durability through future election cycles.

The solution with the most bipartisan potential is Carbon Fee and Dividend – a revenue-neutral, market based policy that puts an increasing fee on the production of fossil fuels and returns all the money collected to every American household equally each month. In addition to reducing US carbon emissions by 40% in twelve years and 90% in thirty years, this policy will prevent 295,000 deaths from air pollution and create a net 2.1 million jobs in the first ten years. Carbon Fee and Dividend, introduced in Congress as HR 763, has prominent support from both parties, including Jerry Taylor and John Delaney. Please ask your Congressmen to support this important legislation at cclusa.org/write. Thank you!
