School opening?

By Donald Scott - Nashua | Aug 8, 2020

I disagree with the decision to keep the schools closed into the fall and I believe there are two main reasons why our local school district and others are doing this. The first is mainly political. With the election coming up, the politicians and unions are trying to advance their own agendas, unfortunately by attempting to cause as much hardship and economic turmoil as possible in order to get the results they are looking for in the fall elections. It’s too bad for the families and kids that are made to suffer because of this. The second is just a continuation of the panic fed by much of the media that started last March. The coronavirus situation has morphed into something much larger than it actually is. Now it would seem that a lot of people have come to believe that it is the government’s job to protect them from getting any contagious disease. That part is a bit scary because it is starting to feel as though some think that social isolation and mask wearing ought to now be a permanent way of life. No one and nothing can guarantee a person that they will never get sick, never could and never will. My feeling is that we should just dispense with the nonsense and move towards getting back to pre-COVID normal as soon as possible, get the kids and teachers back in school and move on to more important matters.
