Vote absentee!

By Katy Cutshall - Bedford | Jul 25, 2020

It’s the law now! Every New Hampshire voter with concerns about Covid-19 can vote by absentee ballot for the upcoming elections, the Sept. 8 primary and the Nov. 3 general election.

This is welcome news to those with health, age, or other factors who are more vulnerable to COVID-19. The reality is it is safer for all, voters and poll workers, if citizens vote from home this year.

Simply request an absentee ballot and check off the Covid-19 box on the application form. There are no legal concerns as COVID-19 has been declared a risk to all voters and poll workers. Additionally, the absentee voting process in New Hampshire is an established, secure process.

Voting absentee is a two-step process:

Request an absentee ballot application and return it as soon as possible. One application can be used to request ballots for both elections. Absentee ballot applications can be found on your town or city clerk\’s website.

After you receive the ballot in the mail, fill it out and sign the envelope according to the instructions.

If you need to register to vote as a new voter or because you’ve changed towns, check the box on the absentee ballot application to receive an absentee registration packet.

For additional information on voting safely or help with voting questions, visit voteinnh.org or call a 24/7 assistance hotline 603-GO-N-VOTE.

Please request your absentee ballots early. Spread the word and not the virus. Vote absentee!
