Build on the ashes

By Richard Backus - New Boston | Jun 13, 2020

The Republican Party has fallen into a deep, dark hole. They won the last presidential election without winning the popular vote. Their response? Try to appeal to more people? No.

Their response is to prevent people who generally vote Democratic from voting. While there has been virtually NO verified voter fraud, they have pushed for voter ID requirements, and Republican-run states have obliged. New Hampshire has passed laws to prevent men and women who attend college here from voting here. Republican-run states have closed polling places, refused to allow felons who had served their time to vote even though the voters passed a ballot initiative demanding that be changed, have endeavored to purge voting lists, have drawn districts with “surgical precision” in North Carolina to keep Republicans in power despite the fact that Democrats won more votes, have opposed absentee ballots in the middle of a pandemic, and the list goes on.

A responsible conservative party can only be built on the ashes of the Republican Party, which now stands for little except clinging to power. If you believe in what Republicans USED to believe in, you must deliver shock therapy and vote Democratic down the line this November.
