NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire addresses one of the most critical of human needs and one of the most pressing needs in our state today – access to quality housing opportunities. Even in these challenging times, NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire has continued delivering our essential services – completing development projects that will soon bring new affordable rental options for low income families; providing telephone counseling to homeowners who need guidance in navigating their finances during this time and residents who want to continue on their path to homeownership; and helping low income tenants of our properties, most especially those whose employment has been impacted by the financial crisis associated with COVID-19 situation.

Charitable support is being relied upon this year to provide more than 47% of our operating budget. This support covers essential costs so NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire can deliver services, such as staffing and overhead, program supplies, and training. Strong support and prudent practices have helped NWSNH remain in excellent position to create quality housing, improve neighborhoods, and help residents become financially stronger. We ask you to consider making a personal financial contribution to NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire.

We have a rare opportunity to double the impact of individual contributions at this time. On June 9, NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire is participating in NH Gives, a 24-hour online fundraising event that is designed to encourage support for non-profit organizations in the state. It runs from June 9 to June 10.

Each gift given through NHGives and designated to NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire during this period of time (up to $1,000 per gift) is eligible for a dollar for dollar match from the NH Charitable Foundation, while matching funds are available. Making an on-line contribution through NHGives on June 9th is a great way to make a gift to NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire and receive a match for that gift, without doing anything extra.

For example, a $25 gift will result in a $50 total contribution to the organization. A $100 gift will result in a $200 total gift. A $250 gift will result in a $500 total gift. And so forth, up to $1,000 per contribution. And you will receive “credit” for the amount personally given and the matched amount. We have chosen to have all matching contributions received to be directed to our Rental Assistance Relief Fund to help tenants who have experienced job loss or wages due to the COVID-19 crisis, helping them not fall behind on their rent so they can focus their available financial resources on purchasing food, gas, and medicine for their family.

We encourage you to give as close to the 6 p.m. opening time on June 9 to maximize the opportunity for a matched gift, as once the $250,000 in matching funds allocated by the NH Charitable Foundation has been exhausted, no gifts will be matched.
