Lack of tests a problem

By Walter Hamilton - Portsmouth | May 23, 2020

In early February, the country saw what would happen if the COVID-19 virus got into a nursing home as it did in Kirkland, Washington. Our care homes had months to prepare to stop it here, but lacked the ability to test patients and staff. They lacked masks, face shields and gowns to keep staff from passing the virus from one patient to another.

Now, families are paying the price. Until May, New Hampshire only tested care homes after infections had been reported, because tests were in such short supply. Infected people are being left in these facilities.

The lack of tests is a problem everywhere except the White House, where people have been tested daily. This president deprived care homes of tests needed to catch this virus before it spread through their facility so he could be tested every day and appear brave by not wearing a mask.

This president says people need to die to get the economy back on track, and wants to make sure it is people like you and your family and not him or his.
