Unless he makes a miraculous recovery, it appears that Bernie Sanders will shortly yield to Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination for president. The real question is: What do his followers want? Will they continue their honest and passionate quest for a “revolution,” martyring themselves for a dying movement, or will they throw their support behind Biden?

Bernie himself has stated that he’ll support the Democratic nominee, but it’s unclear what his supporters will do. In order to win against Donald Trump, Biden needs the support of the “Bernie Bros.” If they are so passionate for the revolution Bernie promised them, they could sit out the election and ensure that Trump wins the White House again.

I certainly hope that is not the case. I trust that Bernie’s supporters will realize that the real objective is to defeat Trump. Period. End of story. Stay engaged, and vote to oust the worst president in our entire history! Positive change will follow after that.
