Comcast Cares Day thank you

By Cheryl Haas - Parks and Recreation Director, Town of Windham | May 12, 2019

On behalf of the Windham Recreation Department, thank you to Comcast NBCUniversal for the two projects that they volunteered with in Windham – Bingo with the Seniors and Sprucing up Wonderland Playground.

On April 30 and May 4, more than 50 volunteers from the Town of Windham joined forces with Comcast NBCUniversal employees and their families and friends to ‘make change happen.’ The event was part of Comcast Cares Day – the company’s celebration of its year-round commitment to volunteerism and service. This year, Comcast marks its 18th Comcast Cares Day. More than 1 million volunteers have contributed over 6 million service hours to improve nearly 10,000 projects in the U. S. and around the world since Comcast Cares Day started in 2001.

The Windham Recreation Department and Comcast share a common goal – a commitment to making lasting impact on the Windham community. This ongoing relationship is an excellent example of how public-private partnerships can make a positive difference in our community. Thanks to Comcast NBCUniversal’s support, we were able to have these special days.

Together we will continue to strengthen our community. Thank you to everyone who volunteered!
