Will Nashua become a sanctuary city soon?

By Staff | Oct 11, 2016

After reading the Sept. 17 article in The Telegraph about Nashua becoming a "Welcoming City," I am concerned about Nashua’s future on at least two levels.

Are we being led in the direction of becoming a sanctuary city?

Alderman Dan Moriarty was singled out and personally attacked because he did what taxpayers ‘hired’ him to do. He did a complete job of due diligence and found that belonging to the organization included many hidden requirements. His attacker is from the same local organization that spent most of last year trying very hard to force one of their bad ideas down our throats. It appears faces change but tactics don’t and that organization continues to lose credibility.

Detailed study of the makeup of the "Welcoming City" organization indicates it is an Obama administration initiative to promote acceptance of immigrants and refugees. It is primarily funded by several of George Soros’ organizations. In my opinion, Mr. Soros is known for his dislike of the freedoms available to us as U.S. citizens and his numerous attempts to curtail them by pouring billions of dollars into groups that work against reducing government control.

Accepting new people into Nashua who have no means of support could be a big drain on our limited resources and very likely will aggravate an already serious shortage of affordable housing. Our resources should be used for more pressing needs such as finding housing for the U.S. citizens already living in Nashua. Let’s not unnecessarily complicate and overburden our attempts to solve the issue.

I suggest Nashua follow a number of other US cities that withdrew their "Welcoming City" resolutions when they found out the costly necessities for maintaining the designation.
