Democrats place dollars above freedom

By Staff | Oct 10, 2014

The recent campaign mailings by the New Hampshire Democratic Party against Republican gubernatorial candidate Walt Havenstein support ideological positions that place cheap health care ahead of individual freedom. These positions undermine freedom of religion by attempting to force taxpayers to pay for health services that opppose their religious and ethical values. I am a young mother and am dismayed that, by supporting any Democratic candidate, I would invariably support initiatives that curtail my religious freedom. Why does the Democratic Party insist that I suspend my own ethical values for the sake of low-cost abortion and birth control? Their insistence on this one issue of grave moral concern separates voters like myself from their platform and makes the Democrats appear more concerned with money than civil liberties. Are personal freedoms, including freedom of religion, less important than dollars?
