Don’t believe lies of Americans for Prosperity

By Staff | Aug 12, 2014

This week, our household received three lie-filled fliers from the Koch brothers-funded organization Americans for Prosperity. They made statements implying that Sen. Jeanne Shaheen’s vote to support Obamacare was the reason patients were given limited access to a number of hospitals in New Hampshire, resulting in excessively long drives to seek hospital care. It’s so fascinating to see Americans for Prosperity try to connect dots that can’t be connected and to repeatedly try to deceive the voter with blatant lies.

If they only read The Telegraph, they’d know that they were dead wrong. In an article written by Kevin Landrigan in September 2013, it is clear that it was Anthem that chose to limit the number of hospitals in the state from which insurance exchange members can seek care, and it was the decisions of the 2012 GOP-led Legislature that put access to our health care system in jeopardy. Sen. Shaheen is not responsible for the limited number of hospitals. Anthem insurance and the Republicans who led the Legislature of 2012 are the real culprits. Americans for Prosperity needs to stop the lies, and the smart people of New Hampshire need to stop believing them.
