Your guest commentary (“Give military women equal treatment” Aug. 4) by Judy Atwood Bell is only partially true and Sen. Jeanne Shaheen’s bill is a thinly veiled proposal for the availability of abortion in military medical facilities. Military women and female dependents receive free contraceptives through military pharmacies or mail-order with a doctor’s prescription. They only pay a co-pay if they use their prescription at a civilian pharmacy.

The underlying truth is that Ms. Bell and Sen. Shaheen should already know that. However, they are really pushing for Obamacare funding and the availability of abortion in government facilities.
