Democrats can’t have it both ways

By Staff | Jan 6, 2014

Having read Kevin Landrigan’s piece, essentially criticizing the super PAC ad exposing Jeanne Shaheen’s position on the Affordable Care Act, I am struck by the constant effort to denigrate the GOP while ignoring the continuous attempt by the Democratic Party and the Obama administration to stifle support for conservative causes.

Are the Americans for Prosperity ads dishonest? Hardly. The Koch brothers are advancing the big oil agenda? In New Hampshire? Really!

Perhaps it is convenient, heading into mid-term 2014 elections, to ignore the national Democratic Party’s $84 million cash dump into the Massachusetts effort to unseat Scott Brown in favor of the uber-liberal Elizabeth Warren, or to deflect knowledge of the secretly recorded GOP fundraiser where Mitt Romney spoke accurately about the taxes paid by 47 percent of our citizens – statements used against his candacy to further divide this country.

Yes, the Koch brothers are at least partially funding the super PACs – at the risk of being demonized by the IRS and other administration observers, along with other conservative supporters. Why? To stifle dissent.

Politics is tough, but you can’t have it both ways.
