Grateful she had a chance to serve

By Staff | Dec 2, 2013

To the residents of Nashua: Thank you for a fabulous 30-year political career. Moving here in 1979, I never suspected my life would take such an interesting and rewarding direction. Getting involved in the issues I cared about propelled me from my immediate neighborhood in the North End to the state Senate and House of Representatives in Concord, and back to the city of Nashua.

Ordinary people holding public office at various levels of government is the “New Hampshire way.” The opportunity to become involved, hold public office and make a different is extraordinary. One meets fascinating and famous people, goes to interesting places and is always learning the issues of the day.

It has been an unexpected and unplanned wonderful experience – one that all people can enjoy. I encourage others to find something you care about and follow it.

Representing the people of this city as an alderman at large for the last four years has been an amazing privilege.
