He has top choice for alderman seat

By Staff | Nov 3, 2013

I’ve had the honor and privilege of knowing Ward 9 Alderman Dan Moriarty for many years. Recently, I had the valuable opportunity to work closely with him in his role as liaison to the Conservation Commission. As our city faces continued pressure from development and increased urbanization, Dan has stood with the commission in leading the effort to preserve open spaces and protect our natural resources.

During the past two years, Dan was an early leader in the fight to save Parcel F from development; helped guide the aquisition of the Terrell Conservation Area; advocated for the cleanup of St. Andrews Park; coordinated control of an increasing nuisance caused by overpopulation of Turkey Vultures; called for maximizing conservation easements on the Monis Farm property along Salmon Brook and supported reclamation of the Nashua River from aquatic invasives such as the water chestnut. He most recently secured passage of the ordinance guaranteeing the public’s right to be heard at the Annual Pennichuck Shareholder Meeting.

This hard working, highly educated, well spoken alderman has accomplished much in his term. His background as a senior engineer at BAE Systems allows him to bring considerable skill and expertise to bear on any issue. I appreciate Dan’s thoughtful, result-oriented approach to all matters that come before him. I believe our city is better off for it. Please join me in voting for Dan Moriarty for Alderman At-Large on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
