Ziehm is deserving of your vote
As the former student member of the Nashua Board of Education, I have followed the work of the school board very closely over the past four years. During my time on the board, Nashua faced some of its biggest challenges, including hiring a new superintendent, fixing an unexpected budget shortfall and dealing with difficult budgets in the middle of an economic crisis. Through all of this, I was proud to have Sandra Ziehm as a leader on our school board. Mrs. Ziehm has been a tireless fighter for responsible spending while still working hard to ensure that children and teachers have the resources needed to succeed in the classroom.
There was one instance, in 2009, where Mrs. Ziehm saved the school district almost $30,000 through one common sense suggestion to close unused portables at one of the middle schools. When it is time to examine the budget, she knows where we can afford to cut – and she never points her finger at classroom resources.
Above all else, Mrs. Ziehm is an effective school board member because she truly cares about the students of Nashua. Those who have served on the school board have seen firsthand that no one is more emotionally invested in Nashua’s children than Mrs. Ziehm. She avoids petty politics and puts her focus exactly where it belongs: on ensuring the success of Nashua students. She deserves your vote on Nov. 5.
