Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down

By Staff | Oct 29, 2022

Editor’s note: During the course of a week, issues are covered that might not lend themselves to full editorial comment, but they are worthy of The Sunday Telegraph weighing in – thumbs up, thumbs down or neutral.

THUMBS UP – To the YMCA of Greater Nashua for a family, fun-filled day last weekend at its annual Spooktacular. Hundreds of local children and their parents came out for the event, which showcased crafts, balloon animals, bounce houses and – of course – plenty of treats. About a dozen local businesses and organizations handed out Halloween treats during the two-hour event at Camp Sargent.

THUMBS UP – To local agencies taking part in this weekend’s National Prescription Take-Back Day, which is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Locations include:

• Litchfield: Police Department, 2 Liberty Way

• Merrimack: Police Department, 31 Baboosic Lake Road

• Milford: Police Department, 19 Garden St.

• Hollis: Hollis Pharmacy, 6 Ash St.

• Amherst: Police Department, 175 Amherst St.

• Brookline: Police Department, 3 Post Office Drive

THUMBS UP – To the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce on the conclusion of its candidate series last week. U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster, a Democrat, and challenger Robert Burns took part in the final event of the four-part series at LaBelle Winery in Amherst. The series was a perfect opportunity for local residents to meet the candidates in key races and hear their stance on the issues facing voters in the Nov. 8 midterm election.
