Celebrate fathers on this special day

By Staff | Jun 18, 2022

“I think back to the day I drove Michelle and a newborn Malia home from the hospital nearly 13 years ago – crawling along, miles under the speed limit, feeling the weight of my daughter’s future resting in my hands. I think about the pledge I made to her that day: that I would give her what I never had – that if I could be anything in life, I would be a good father.” – Barack Obama.

Fathers hold a special place in our collective hearts. For many, they are idols that influence us from cradle to grave, setting the benchmark for which we live the rest of our lives.

They are teachers, guiding us on our first steps, through riding a bicycle, going fishing, talking to girls for the first time, driving a car and so much more.

They are fierce protectors, shielding us against harm and heartache, passing along wisdom all along the way.

They are shoulders to cry on in difficult times, always willing to listen and offer a reassuring hug or pat on the back.

Fathers truly shape our lives in many, many ways, making us the men and women we turn into to carry on family traditions and herald in new generations.

Today, The Telegraph takes pause to not only thank all the fathers in Greater Nashua, but to remind those throughout the area to cherish their dads and the wisdom they offer. They are irreplaceable treasures that should be valued not only on Father’s Day, but every day.

Mothers and fathers shape our lives, and the days set aside to honor them are reminders of the special gifts many of us are blessed with.

Even if just a phone call, remember to call and thank dad on Sunday for his many sacrifices, his sage advice and, most important, his love.

Happy Father’s Day from The Telegraph.
