Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down

By Staff | Feb 20, 2021

Editor’s note: During the course of a week, issues are covered that might not lend themselves to full editorial comment, but they are worthy of The Sunday Telegraph weighing in – thumbs up, thumbs down or neutral.

THUMBS Up – To those working and volunteering at COVID-19 vaccination sites in Nashua and throughout our nation. The time they are spending to assist during others during this pandemic truly is immeasurable. Let’s hope cases continue to decline and life finally returns to normal – or a new normal where we all feel more safe.

THUMBS DOWN – To those who continue to litter parking lots, sidewalks and yards with used masks and gloves. One need not walk more than 5 feet in any parking lot before seeing a discarded mask. We are better than this, Granite Staters. Put used masks and gloves where they belong – in the trash. Those working in area businesses have enough to do without cleaning up your mess.

THUMBS UP – To Gov. Chris Sununu for issuing an executive order stipulating all school districts in the state have at least two days of in-person learning during the coronavirus pandemic. The order would take effect on March 8, Sununu said at his weekly news conference. He said there are only about a half-dozen districts left in the state that aren’t offering a hybrid schedule. “It isn’t just so the kids come back and have a more fuller, robust learning model,” Sununu said. “It really is for the behavioral and mental health, the isolation issues, that so many of our students have been bearing with.”

THUMBS DOWN – To those who continue to vandalize downtown buildings with graffiti. Grow up, and also take heed, you’ve been caught on video surveillance.
