Remain cautious
Beginning Monday, all hotels and campgrounds in the Granite State will be able to open up at 100 percent capacity.
While smaller lodging establishments reopened June 5 at 100 percent capacity, larger locations have been at 50 percent.
Gov. Chris Sununu said last week there is “no direct evidence of severe breakouts of COVID-19 due to lodging.”
In addition, for out-of-staters, a quarantine-at-home rule for 14 days before arriving still applies.
While this is good news, a troubling statistic was released late Thursday. Johns Hopkins University reported that 37,707 new COVID cases were reported that day, a record number that surpasses April 24’s 36,291 cases.
This proves that precautions – like wearing face masks – still is very important. If numbers like that continue, a second stay-at-home order may be needed.
