Brookline’s Melanie Levesque running for Senate

By Staff | Mar 5, 2018

To the Editor:

My name is Melanie Levesque, I am a wife, mother, small business owner, former state representative and a lifelong New Hampshire resident, who grew up in Nashua and has lived in Brookline for the past 28 years. Currently, I serve as a member of the Hollis Brookline Coop School Board, The Endowment for Health Advisory Commission, Town Trustee for Brookline and Trustee for the Brookline Community Church.

I believe in making a difference through service, providing value to those I serve and a government that puts people first.

I am running for State Senate in District 12, which includes Nashua Wards 1, 2, and 5, Hollis, Brookline, Mason, Greenville, New Ipswich and Rindge.

Making New Hampshire the best place to live, work and retire means we need a robust education system, skilled workers to attract businesses, healthy kids and healthy parents, a clean environment, a sound energy policy that includes a focus on renewables, and respect for each person’s rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Meeting the challenges, we face as a state such as our most urgent issue, the opioid crisis, requires thoughtful problems solvers with sound reasoning who deal in facts rather than ideology. I believe I bring those skills.

These are uncommon times however, I believe that people with common values and goals regardless of political affiliation can work together to solve these problems.

In the coming months, I look forward to meeting the citizens in District 12 and listening to your concerns and feedback. Please feel free to write me at Melanie4NHSenate@charter.net. I would like to hear from you. Elections will be held Sept. 4, 2018 for the state primary and Nov. 6, 2018 for the general election. Please save the date!
