Norman G. Stone

Norman G. Stone, 73, of Nashua, NH passed away on December 29, 2010, at Newport Hospital, Newport, Rhode Island after a battle with cancer. He was born on September 22, 1937 in Enfield, NH to the late Claude and Marion Stone. His family then moved to Hingham, MA where he was a 1957 graduate of Hingham High School.

Norman moved to Milwaukee, WI in 1959 and attended Milwaukee School of Engineering, where he received an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed by Outboard Marine Research Corporation. He was also a corporal in the United States Marine Corp Reserves for 7 years.

He moved his family to Nashua in 1969. Norman was employed at Daymarc Corporation, Waltham, MA until 1985 when he moved to Aseco, Marlboro, MA until his retirement in 1999. After his retirement he worked part-time at Bishop Guertin High School in the maintenance department before going to Immaculate Conception Church where he was the maintenance supervisor until the time of his death. Norman was an avid bicyclist and made many 100 mile bicycle trips. He also enjoyed gardening and taking exceptional care of his property.

Norman is survived by one daughter, Tracy Lee Stone, Newport, RI, and was predeceased by daughter, Kelly Kristen Stone, in 2009. He is also survived by his former wife, Judy Stone, of Menominee, MI, two brothers, C. Robert Stone, Weymouth, MA and Kenneth O. Stone, Middleboro, MA, and one sister, Pauline (Paul) Levesque, Summerfield, FL. In addition, he was predeceased by a brother, Paul Stone, Phoenix, AZ, and a sister, Alice Mersch, Cohasset, MA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Dana Farber Research Foundation, Brookline, MA or Immaculate Conception Parish, Nashua, NH.

A service will be held on January 15, 2011 at 2:00pm, at Immaculate Conception Parish, Nashua with a reception to follow at the parish hall. Friends and family are invited to attend.
