Nov 6, 2026

Leonard L. Desmarais, 82, of Nashua, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026.

Born on January 10, 1944, in Nashua, son of the late Raymond L. Desmarais and Aimee G. Desmarais, Leonard developed a strong work ethic at an early age, working hard to help support his family.

In 1969, he married the love of his life, Jeannine Therese (Blouin) Desmarais. They shared 47 years of marriage until her passing in 2016. Together, they operated their own flower shop, Touch of Spring, bringing beauty to the community. Later in life, they enjoyed time together volunteering at Eagles Wing Bingo Hall.

Leonard was a devoted parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Parish, where he was active in the Knights of Columbus, the Social Club, and Parish Bingo. In later years, Leonard enjoyed playing Bingo himself, where he had a large circle of friends. He also enjoyed watching his favorite game shows, Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud.

Leonard will be remembered for his strong work ethic, deep faith, gentle heart, and bright smile.

He is survived by his loving son, John Desmarais, and his brother Gerard. He is predeceased by his beloved sister, Lorraine (Desmarais) Valade, and his cherished grandson, Elijah David Desmarais, whom he adored beyond measure. A mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Aloysius of Gonzaga (St. Louis) on November 14, at 10 AM with burial following at St. Francis Cemetery.
