Peter Normand Martin
Peter Normand Martin, born November 9, 1946, passed away on October 27. A lifelong NH resident, Peter was born and raised in Nashua, graduating from Nashua High School in 1964. He then earned a teaching degree from Keene State College, and served in the NH National Guard. Peter had a lifelong love of sports and athletics and was a devoted New England sports fan — especially the Celtics and Red Sox. Some of his most cherished memories were made taking his children to sporting events and sharing his passion for the teams he loved.
Throughout his career Peter found success working for many years for the Prudential company, earning numerous sales awards and recognition for his accomplishments. Later in life, he found a different kind of fulfillment working as a school bus driver for the local school systems. He genuinely enjoyed the children who rode his bus and often shared stories about the many personalities and memorable moments that made the job so special to him.
Peter also had a deep passion for playing darts, competing in multiple leagues throughout Nashua and Manchester. Over the years, he earned numerous awards and even achieved success at the National level. Darts provided Peter some lasting friendships and a sense of community that meant a great deal to him. The friendships he formed through the sport remained one of the most meaningful parts of his life.
Peter was predeceased by his parents, Normand and Ruth Martin. He is survived by his sister, Kathleen Martin, of Nashua; his son, Adam Martin, and daughter in-law Sarah Martin, of Maryland, and his grandchildren, Zachary, Hailey, and Claire Martin; and his son, Seth Martin, and his grandchildren, Jade, Marley, Phoenix, and Cassius Martin.
A private memorial gathering to celebrate Peter’s life will be planned for a future date. Details will be shared with family and friends once the arrangements have been made.
