Charlotte Dansereau Coelho

Oct 30, 2026

Charlotte Dansereau Coelho, 93, of Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2026. Charlotte lived a life filled with kindness, humor, hard work, friendship, and a genuine love for helping others. She will be remembered for her warm and funny personality, her generous heart, the many people whose lives she touched, and for her unconditional love for her children.

Charlotte was born on June 15, 1933, at Union Hospital in Lynn, Massachusetts, to Edward and Grace Dansereau. She attended St. Mary’s All-Girls High School in Lynn, and she worked after school at the Enterprise Store to earn money for the tuition. Charlotte was just 15 years old when her father passed away. After graduation, she went on to work at General Electric.

Eventually Charlotte moved to New Hampshire. She received a job at Sanders Associates in Nashua, NH and earned the required Security position as Military Librarian for many years. Even while working, she always found ways to help others. On her walk to work, she noticed children heading to school without winter jackets. Charlotte began gathering coats and making sure each child had one to keep warm. Helping people came naturally to her, and she never seemed to overlook someone in need.

Charlotte later became a cashier at Market Basket, where she found a job she truly enjoyed. The regular shoppers loved her friendly personality, and Charlotte enjoyed getting to know them. Her warmth made her a familiar and cherished face. She retired from Market Basket in 2007. She loved good books and challenging puzzles. Charlotte remained active in her senior years. Though officially retired, she worked part time at Annie’s Book Stop.

Charlotte lived in Parkhurst Place in Amherst, NH for almost 17 years and made many wonderful friends. Charlotte doted over her pet cat. One evening, as residents sat outside chatting, a woman jokingly remarked, “When I die, I’m coming back as a cat for Charlotte to take care of me.”

Faith was another important part of Charlotte’s life. On Sunday mornings, she attended Merrimack Valley Baptist Church. She gave rides to others and was always happy to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed the weekly Bible study at Parkhurst Place, where she could share her faith and fellowship with others.

In 2022, Charlotte moved into a memory care facility in Naples, Florida, to be closer to her daughter Cyndy, who became her caregiver. She was surrounded by the love and care of her family in her later years.

Her family remembers Charlotte with admiration and great love as a woman who worked hard, took good care of her family, and always thought of others. She was funny, quick-

witted, and had a way of showing her love through the things she did. Her family will forever treasure the care she gave so freely.

Charlotte leaves behind four children: Susan Reddy Thibodeau (James), Steven Reddy (Tamer), Cynthia Coelho Carlson, and Ken Coelho (Chelsea).

She was a proud grandmother to Janessa Amato Proesel (Steven), Phillip Amato, Damon Amato (Kari), Kamarie Amato Miles, Bethany Amato Morgan (Brian), and Christopher Carlson (Stefany). She was also blessed with 18 great-grandchildren, a family legacy that brought her much joy.

Charlotte was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Grace (Benoit) Dansereau, and her siblings Irene Sutherland, Cecilia Erskine, Eugene, Wilfred, and Raymond Dansereau.

Charlotte’s family will gather together to remember and celebrate her life.
