Sandra “Sandy” Lee Darling
Sandra “Sandy” Lee Darling, 85, of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026, after a brief illness.
She was born on April 30, 1941, in Watsonville, California, the daughter of the late Stanley Darling and Lola (Stratman) Darling. She was a beloved sister, niece, cousin, aunt, and friend, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Sandy was employed for many years as a technical typist and proofer at Nashua Corporation. She always had a passion for writing and was proud to have had a short story published in Where the Heart Is: Stories of Home. She was also an avid reader, always enjoying a good biography or a historical novel. Most of all, Sandy loved spending time with family and friends.
Upon retirement, she relocated to Litchfield, NH, with her cousin Betty. Together, they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean Islands. She loved being active, participating in new experiences, and making the most of every moment. She approached life with an unwavering positive attitude and a wonderful sense of adventure.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was predeceased by her cousin, who was like a sister to her, Elizabeth “Betty” Darling; her sister, Treva Diggins; her brothers, Anthony Darling and his wife Carmen, and Stanley Darling; her aunt, Eva Turla; and nephews Daniel Darling and Jeffrey Diggins.
Sandy is survived by her cousin, Peter Turla and his partner Kathleen Hawkins; her brother-in-law, Roger Diggins; her nephews and nieces, Anthony Diggins and his wife Sue, Steven Diggins and his wife Kim, Lynne Tocci and her husband Ron, Mike Denver, Stony Denver, and Penny Darling, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews who will carry her memory and her joyful spirit with them always.
Sandy will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who knew her. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff and residents at Ansley Place for the care and companionship they provided to Sandy.
