Michael Morse
Michael Morse, 82, of Nashua NH, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on September 15, 2026 after bravely battling a long illness with Leukemia. Born on September 10, 1944, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, he was the cherished son of Paul and Macy Morse. He was the oldest of 13 siblings.
Mike’s life was marked by dedication, warmth, and a zest for adventure. A graduate of Nashua High School in 1963, he furthered his education at Mount Angel College in Oregon. In addition, Mike served in the United States Air Force.
In his early years of employment, Mike and his brother Pat owned a Sunoco gas station. Starting in his early twenties, Mike was a respected employee of New England Telephone, retiring in 2001. While working at the phone company, he and his friend started Mercury Tree Service as a side business. He also worked for a brief period of time at Reeds Ferry Sheds, which he enjoyed. After retiring from New England Telephone, he worked alongside his lifelong friend Lenny learning the mechanical trade, then later started his own HVAC company, MP Morse.
His professional life was paralleled by pursuits that brought joy to him and those around him. An avid mountain biker, in 2002 he rode the challenging Continental Divide Trail from Canada to Mexico, a testament to his adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors. In his thirties, Mike raced motorcycles in long distance enduros, and for a time raced a home made sidecar he welded in the backyard. Mike’s enthusiasm for life extended to running, as he completed four marathons, and hunting in the woods behind his house where he found peace, solitude, and venison.
Mike’s love for fishing with his longtime friend Nelly was well known, often taking family and friends on his cherished boat, “Off Sides”, to share the simple pleasures of a day on the water. He served the NH soccer community for many years, in many roles, notably as Director of Referees for both the Columbus Day and Memorial Day soccer tournaments, demonstrating his commitment to community and his passion for sportsmanship. Known for his quick wit and welcoming nature, Mike had an extraordinary ability to make others feel at ease, always ready with a joke or kind word.
Mike leaves behind his devoted wife Joanie, his beloved children Jeff and Karen Morse, Sonya and husband Shaun Cattanach, and Loren and wife Jamie Morse; and his treasured grandchildren Joey, Carly, Maeven, Ayla, Broden, and Austin; his eight brothers and two sisters, Pat Morse and his wife Linda Edelstein, Suzanne and her husband William Hodge, Greg Morse, Loren Morse, John Morse, Bobby and his wife Linda Morse, Nina Morse, Peter Morse, Jim Morse and Matt and his wife Lisa Morse; numerous nieces and nephews and his longtime friend, Richard McAlpine. In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by two brothers, Rod and William Morse. His family was his greatest joy, and he spoke of them with admiration and pride.

Michael Morse was a man of action who perpetually thought outside of the box that confines most people. Mike’s legacy is one of love, laughter, resilience, and a wonderful contentious spirit. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him but will forever remain in our hearts. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
