Ann Maitland

Ann Maitland died on September 8, 2026, while under hospice care in New Hampshire. She grew up in East Providence, Rhode Island, and was a graduate of both East Providence High School and Rhode Island College. She taught elementary school in Riverside, Rhode Island, and Nashua, New Hampshire. Ann met her husband Bob, in college. They married on April 11, 1970, and started their married lives in Nashua, then moved to Merrimack, and later returned to Nashua.

She stopped teaching when her children were born and took great joy in watching and helping them grow. As they became more independent, she worked at Brookstone’s head office and later became a receptionist at Nashua Medical Group (NMG).

She was very “crafty”. Through the years Ann created some beautiful projects in quilting, counted cross stitch, needlepoint, papercraft, and Tolle painting. She also loved decorating and setting up displays. For several years, Ann filled the display case outside the Fairgrounds Middle School library to illustrate the theme for the month. At NMG, she created holiday/seasonal displays on the nurses’ station counter. The nurses and the patients loved the brightness and the creativity.

Ann made friends wherever she went. She once walked her beagle Max through the neighborhood for 525 straight days, rain or shine. Some of these walks took a lot longer as she would stop and chat with neighbors.

Ann is predeceased by her parents Pete and Ruth and sister Ellen.

She is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Bonnie and son MacGregor, his wife Gwen and their two children, sister Patricia Jacquart of Riverside RI and sister Gail Hultz of Scottsdale, Arizona.

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock Street, Nashua, NH. A burial ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Evergreen Cemetery, Nashua, NH.
