Lawrence J. Lingley
Lawrence J. Lingley, 87, of Hollis, NH, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026. He was born in Tarrytown, New York, on July 16, 1939, the son of the late James T. Lingley and Clara E. (Wright) Lingley.
Lawrence was the loving husband of Carolyn (Cummings) Lingley. They were married on June 21, 1959, and shared more than 67 years of marriage together.
Lawrence grew up in Hollis and attended Hollis High School. A self-taught mechanic, he took great pride in his work and eventually owned and operated Hollis Auto Service for many years. He was known for his mechanical ability, his strong work ethic, and his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever someone was in need. Lawrence was also a longtime member of the Congregational Church of Hollis.
Above all else, Lawrence was devoted to his family. He treasured the time he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and took great pride in watching his family grow. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved cat, Pumpkin, who brought him great companionship and joy.
In addition to his parents, Lawrence was predeceased by his brother, Jim Lingley; his sister, Elizabeth (Lingley) Woods; and his son, Dusty Lingley.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn Lingley; his sons, Thomas Lingley and his wife, Celia, John Lingley and his wife, Kathy, and Lawrence James Lingley Jr. and his wife, Tina; his daughter, Sue Martin Labrie and her partner, Steve; his grandchildren, Amy Martel and her husband, Dan, Heather Carter and her husband, Matt, Stephanie Kirsch and her husband, Nick, Tyler Martin and his fiancée, Taylor Keating, Sarah Martin, Matthew Martin, Ashley Lingley, and Lawrence James Lingley III; his step-grandchild, Spenzer Labrie; his great-grandchildren, Tom, Ann, Kennedy, Adam, Adalynn, and Jameson; and several nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation at Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock Street, Nashua, NH, on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A church service will be held at the Congregational Church of Hollis, 3 Monument Square, Hollis, NH 03049 on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Congregational Church of Hollis in Lawrence’s memory.
