Donna Rush Puckett
Donna Rush Puckett, 89, of Nashua, widow of Donald Puckett, and stepmother to Don’s children Cindy & Jimmy Puckett, passed away Tuesday evening, August 18, 2026, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, after a period of declining health.
Born in Benedicta, Maine on September 27, 1936, Donna was one of eleven children of the late Daniel B. and Ora (Theriault) Rush. She grew up in Benedicta and was a graduate of Saint Benedict’s High School Class of 1954.
A decades-long resident of Nashua and longtime employee of Pennichuck Water Works, she was known for her love of family, animals, and music. Donna loved spending time with her family including her many nieces and nephews. She had a deep appreciation for music, especially as a fan of Neil Diamond, having attended a concert with two of her sisters. She was a lover of all animals but especially her dog Mindy.
In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her husband, Donald, who passed away in 1980, leaving behind many pieces of his handcrafted woodwork; three brothers, Edward, Donald and Richard Rush; and five sisters, Mary Harding, Bernadine Morris, Theresa Landers, Leah MacKnight and Evelyn McLaughlin.
She is survived by two sisters, Lynn Peters of Nashua and Jean Crouse of Great Bend, KS; her numerous nieces and nephews; and her longtime friend, Becky Miller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 216 East Dunstable Road, Nashua, Tuesday, August 25th at 11 a.m. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson. Donations may be made in her memory to the Humane Society for Greater Nashua, 24 Ferry Street, Nashua, NH 03064, or the Community Hospice House, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054, who cared for her so beautifully over her final months.
