Judith “Judy” Zacher, 72, of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Judy was born on June 17, 1954, in Medford, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Edward and Irene (Walsh) Lennon. She grew up with a warmth and kindness that would remain a defining part of who she was throughout her life. Judy was truly born with a smile–and she carried that smile with her wherever she went.
Judy’s greatest love was her family. She was the beloved wife of Anthony “Tony” Zacher, her high school sweetheart and husband of 51 wonderful years. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, family, friends, and many adventures. Together, they made homes in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Florida, and even Ireland, creating memories wherever life took them.
She was the devoted mother of Kelly Katis and her husband, Mark; Scott Zacher and his wife, Jenna; and Jill Iwicki and her husband, Christopher. She was also the proud and loving grandmother of Ava, Mia, Ella, Lily, Grace, and Lola, whom she adored beyond words. Judy is also survived by her beloved brother; David Lennon and her beloved sister; Karen Shine and her husband Fred.
Judy was the biggest cheerleader for her granddaughters. Whether she was sitting in the stands at a sporting event, watching a school play, or listening to a musical performance, she wanted to be there for the moments that mattered most to them. She celebrated each granddaughter for exactly who she was and took great joy in watching their individual personalities, talents, and dreams unfold. She made the same effort with her children, always wanting to be present and involved in their lives and the things that mattered to them.
Throughout her life, Judy enjoyed a variety of careers and experiences, including working at Dartmouth Hitchcock, Barmakian Jewelers, Crate & Barrel, and White House Black Market. She especially enjoyed working in retail, where her natural ability to make people feel comfortable and welcome was a gift. She loved decorating homes, sewing, and, above all else, golf–and more golf. She was a longtime member of the Nashua Country Club, where she enjoyed 32 years of friendship, community, and time on the course.
Judy had a rare ability to make everyone around her feel at ease. She was almost never angry and had a remarkable way of embracing people exactly as they were. Her calming presence could change the feeling in a room. She welcomed everyone with warmth, kindness, and an easy smile, and she formed lasting friendships with people from all different walks of life and from every chapter of her journey.
To know Judy was to feel loved and accepted. She treasured her friends and family deeply, and she never took the important relationships in her life for granted. Her greatest joy was simply being with the people she loved–sharing a meal, attending an event, playing a round of golf, decorating a home, or cheering someone on.
Judy leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, kindness, acceptance, and devotion to family. Her smile, her gentle spirit, and the way she made others feel welcomed will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family, and the many friends whose lives she touched.
Judy spent her life showing up for the people she loved. She was there for the big moments, the little moments, and everything in between. Her greatest gift was making people feel that they mattered–and they always did to her.
A Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held on Sunday, September 13th from 1:00pm ~ 4:00pm at Nashua Country Club, 25 Fairway Street in Nashua.
