Mariette R. Plante
Mariette Rose (Turcotte) Plante passed away peacefully after a period of declining health on June 14, 2026, at the age of 85. She was born on June 2, 1941, in St-Ephrem, Beauce Quebec, Canada the daughter of the late Trefflé Turcotte and Rose-Eva (Fortin). She was the beloved wife of the late Renald Plante who passed away in April 2000.
In 1962, Mariette and Renald moved to Nashua, NH and then Hudson, NH in 1971 to raise their family. She worked as the bookkeeper for their company Interior Systems, Inc. After retirement, they spent time traveling and became snowbirds to the warmth of Florida. She continued to travel with family after Renald’s passing. Her family reveled in her ability to pack a suitcase like no other and prepare a home cooked meal anywhere, even from a hotel room.
Mariette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She savored the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time with her loved ones. She found joy in cooking, baking, and entertaining, always thoughtfully taking care of others. The family will miss her delicious tourtière’s and gathering around her table to tell stories, hunt for bargains in the circulars, and enjoy her never-ending supply of Starbursts and lemonade. She loved reading, doing word searches, playing cards, and decorating her house for every season. She will be remembered for her contagious smile, laughter, and loving spirit.
She is survived by her children Sylvie (Plante) Bouffard and her husband David, Richard Plante, Michael Plante and his wife Donna (Levesque), and Lynn (Plante) Clarke and her husband Kenneth. Her grandchildren, Brittany (Bouffard) Franzek and her husband Derek, Brian Bouffard and his wife Kim, Kevin Plante and his wife Jessica, Donna Plante and her wife Melissa, Angela (Plante) Desper and her husband Charlie, Lindsay Plante, Nicholas Plante, and Matthew Baddeley. Her great grandchildren, Isaac, Levi, Gavin, Garrison, Graham, Kaydence, Trenton, Trevor, Carson, and Lilah. Her sister, Laurette Lapointe and brother Jean-Phillipe Turcotte and the extended Plante family members who were like brothers and sisters to her. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including Jodi Copp Plante (once family always family).
Mariette was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her brothers Paul Turcotte, Pamphile Turcotte, and Dominique Turcotte.
Though our hearts are filled with sorrow, we find comfort in the many memories of her strength, kindness, compassion, and deep faith. She had a gentle heart and a generous spirit, and her love for her family was evident in all that she did. The love and kindness she shared will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Courville of Manchester, Elliot VNA Hospice and Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for their care, kindness and support.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, July 24 at St. John’s the Evangelist Church, 25 Library St., Hudson, NH at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one’s favorite charity.
