Karen Krueger
Karen Krueger, 83, of Nashua, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts. Born on January 6, 1943, in Enderlin, North Dakota, Karen was the daughter of the late Arthur Winjum and Sophie Winjum/Anderson. She grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Perham High School. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in English and Speech, reflecting her lifelong love of learning, literature, and communication.
Karen began her career as an English teacher before marrying the love of her life, Paul Krueger, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. During Paul’s service in the United States Air Force, the couple was stationed throughout the country, creating lasting memories and friendships wherever they lived. As they raised their family, Karen devoted herself to being a homemaker and loving mother, later returning to education as a substitute teacher in the Nashua School System.
Family was at the center of Karen’s life. She was a devoted and patient mother who provided unwavering love and support to her children. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren and delighted in family gatherings. Karen was an excellent cook who expressed her love through meals shared around the family table. Her homemade Chocolate cake with fudge frosting was a favorite and became a cherished family tradition.
Karen enjoyed many interests throughout her life. She was an enthusiastic Boston sports fan, loved traveling, and especially looked forward to visits back home to Minnesota to spend time with family. She enjoyed swimming, dancing, reading, and evenings out to dinner with family and friends.
A woman of deep faith, Karen was a dedicated parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Nashua for 45 years. She generously served her parish as a religious education teacher for 15 years and as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also an active member of the Nashaway Women’s Club for many years and served as both Regent and Vice Regent of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Karen will be remembered for her kindness, faith, devotion to family, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her. Her legacy of love, service, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
