Mary Louise Belbin

Mary Louise Belbin, 87, of Manchester, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026.

Born on February 24, 1939, in Boston, Massachusetts, Mary was the daughter of Samuel Mento and Fedora (Corello) Mento. She was raised in Boston and attended Julie Billiart Central High School.

Mary dedicated more than 30 years of her career to New England Telephone, where she worked as a telephone operator in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at the historic Scully Square location before her retirement.

On June 30, 1990, Mary married the love of her life, Joseph John Volpe, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Together they shared many happy years until Joseph’s passing.

Mary found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo, spending time with family and friends, and had a special affection for animals of all kinds. Her caring nature and compassionate heart touched many lives.

In addition to her husband, Mary was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Fedora Mento, her sisters, Kay Stevenson and Irene Lewey, and her brother, Tony Mento.

She is survived by her sister, Fedora Sullivan, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

SERVICES: A graveside service at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA, will take place at the convenience of the family. The Davis Funeral Home has been placed in charge of arrangements. (603)883-3401 “ONE MEMORY LIGHTS ANOTHER.”
