June B. Madeira
June B. Madeira, of Nashua, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
She was born in New York, New York, on June 2, 1929, to the late Michael Burke and M. Tina (Comeau) Burke. She was raised and educated in New York City. Growing up in New York, she was involved in the Episcopal Church at a young age. Through the young people’s youth group at All Angels Church, she met her beloved husband, John “Bernie” Madeira. They were married on February 12, 1955, at All Angels Church and were together for 61 years until his passing in 2016.
Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a bookkeeper for J. Lawrence Hall. After her retirement, June enjoyed volunteering at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center on a weekly basis.
A woman of deep faith, she was an active member of The Church of the Good Shepherd. This church community was a source of comfort and joy. Over the course of 60 years, June served on the Vestry, Altar Guild, Daughters, and various other committees. She was still active in the CGS Prayer Shawl Group, where she made knitted blankets for babies and for those who were infirmed.
June was a talented basket weaver, knitter, and also enjoyed bird watching. However, her greatest joy was her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. June was always available to attend their extracurricular activities. She didn’t want to miss out on a single moment with them.
In addition to her husband, Bernie, June was predeceased by her son, David Bernard Madeira.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Madeira of Nashua, Carol Figueroa and her spouse, Luis of Merrimack, and Sally Madeira and her spouse, “Chip” Hulten of Southington, CT. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Elissa Morin and her partner, Andrew Cummings; Christopher Figueroa and his partner, Meaghan Harper; Alexandra Figueroa and her partner, Jonathan Hawes; Daniel Figueroa; Madison Hulten; and Nicholas Hulten. She is further survived by her beloved great-grandchildren, Maisy Jordan and Easton Cummings, along with many extended family members and friends.
