Fleurette B. Lavoie

Fleurette Blanche Lavoie, 95, of Nashua, widow of Roland E. Lavoie, passed away Sunday evening, June 7, 2026 at Beth Israel Lahey Health in Burlington, MA after a brief illness.

Born in St. Francois de Montmagny, Province of Quebec, Canada on August 18, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Leopold and Lillian (Duchesneau) Lachance. A resident of Nashua since early childhood, Fleurette attended the former St. Francis Xavier Parochial School. She was a longtime communicant of the former St. Francis Xavier Church and communicant of St. Louis de Gonzague Church.

In addition to raising her family, Fleurette had been employed as a dress maker with the former Palm Dress and Jalb Manufacturing. She later worked at Helmet Helpers. She was a member of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union (ILGWU).

Fleurette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading, knitting and the beach and trips to Florida with her husband Roland. She loved playing Scrabble and Words with Friends which brought out her competitive nature. Through the years she loved baking desserts and spoiling her family with new recipes she found. She had a love for Big Band Music and is now dancing again with Roland to Moonlight Serenade.

In addition to her parents, Fleurette was predeceased by her husband Roland, whom she married on September 5, 1949 and shared 62 years together until his passing on April 17, 2012; her daughter, Joanne P. Langis; granddaughter, Maria Langis; her brother, Robert Lachance; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Simone and Roland Girouard, Cecile and Roger Bosse, and Yvette and Armand Roussel.

Members of her family include a son, David P. Lavoie and his husband Ronald Langley of Nashua; two daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and William Savage and Janet and Stephen Whissel all of Nashua; son-in-law, Robert Langis of Nashua; seven grandchildren, Christine McDonald, Gregory Whissel and his wife Michele; Bryan Savage and his wife Kelley; Angela Burnett, Sarah Stewart and her husband Austin, Tabitha Langis, Tiffany Langis; eight great-grandchildren, Rian McDonald, Christiane, Gabrielle and Emerson Whissel; Kieran Savage, Mabel and Verity Burnett; and Clyde Langis; a longtime and special family friend, Michael Moulton of Merrimack; a sister-in-law, Barbara Lachance; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 50 West Hollis Street, Nashua Thursday, June 18th at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
