Ronald A. Dionne, 79, of Windham, NH passed away on Friday, June 5th, at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH.

Ron was born on October 15, 1946, to Gertrude (LaChance) and Patrick Dionne. He was raised in Nashua, NH, attended local schools, played on local baseball teams, and graduated from Nashua High School in 1964. At that time, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served on the USS Kearsarge during the Vietnam War, where he earned the National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.

At the conclusion of his military service, Ron began his career working as an Air Traffic Controller at the FAA Boston Air Route Traffic Control Center in Nashua. He married the love of his life, Dorothy “Dot” (Simard) and the couple raised their family in Windham, NH. In 1981, Ron switched gears and began his career as an Electrician, spending many years working for Dunwell Electric. Following his retirement, Ron subcontracted for his nephew Mike Simard and drove a school bus for the Windham School District.

Anyone who knew Ron knew that he loved to chat and felt very comfortable striking up conversations with others. He was also happy to share his opinions regarding aliens various conspiracy theories. Ron liked to keep busy, whether he was skiing, trying out new restaurants with friends, or spending time with his beloved pets. He took great pride in keeping his home and yard looking their best.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dot Dionne; his daughter, Kimberly Rhea Dionne and her significant other Ryan Jake Pelletier; his son, Jacob Patrick Dionne and his wife Bethany; his grandchildren, Asher and Rhea Dionne; his sister Simone Hunter and her husband Bill; his brothers-in-law and their wives, Ron and Terry Simard, and Jerry and Kathy Simard; as well as many nieces, nephews; and close friends, the Crockwell, Fontaine, and Taylor families.

In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by his son, Patrick Oliver Dionne; and his brother-in-law, Eugene Simard.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 27th, from 9am to 12pm, with a Funeral Service immediately beginning at 12pm, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A light luncheon will immediately follow in the funeral home function hall. Burial will take place on Monday morning, at 10am, at the Cemetery on the Plain in Windham.
