George J. Coupe of Nashua, NH passed away at Nashua Crossings on May 26, 2026, after a period of declining health. Born on November 26, 1940, in Evanston, IL, he was the son of the late George and E. Marjorie (Coleman) Coupe of Barrington Hills, IL.

A lifelong athlete, George excelled on the football, track, and swim teams at St. Thomas Military Academy in St. Paul MN, graduating in 1958. He went on to swim freestyle at Northwestern University from 1958-1962, earning a degree in Accounting, followed by an MBA from the University of Chicago in 1971. From 1964-1966 he proudly served as LTJG in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Ranger. As a CPA and Chief Financial Officer he built a distinguished career beginning with Ford Motor Company in Chicago.

George will be best remembered as a loving person with a generous spirit and a great sense of humor. Music was central to his life–he enjoyed singing in church choirs and had a deep love of classical music. George was enormously proud of his accomplishments in the New England Masters swimming community where he won high point awards and swam competitively well into his 80s.

George is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Louise (Kasimatis), whom he married on June 8, 1958; son George (Kelly) of Los Gatos, CA; daughter Melissa Finn (Chris) of Concord, MA, and son James (Natalie) of North Haledon, NJ. He leaves five cherished grandchildren: Will, Leo, and Maggie Finn, and Alexander and Danny Coupe; and cousin Jeanine Coupe Ryding of Evanston, IL. He was predeceased by his sisters Patricia Crabb and Margot Macy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Christopher Parish on Wednesday, June 10th at 10:00 AM. Burial with Military Honors will take place at the NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH on Thursday, June 11th at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Home Health and Hospice, 7 Executive Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
