Mark D. Fessenden

BROOKLINE, NH; Mark D. Fessenden, 71, a lifelong resident of Brookline, died Thursday, May 28, 2026 at his residence after a battle with neuroendocrine cancer.

Mark was born in Nashua, NH, April 28, 1955 a son of the late Orville D. and Mary B. (Clarke) Fessenden.

Mark graduated from Hollis-Brookline High School class of 1973. He continued his education at New Hampshire Community College in Manchester where he received an Associate’s Degree in Automotive Technology in 1975.

For 35 years Mark worked as an automotive technician at Tulley Automotive Group in Nashua.

Mark leaves his wife of 48 years, Bonnie J. (Robbins) Fessenden; his son, David S. Fessenden and his wife, Alicen of Leland, NC; his daughter, Kelly M. Parker of Peterborough, NH; two sisters, Ann Santerre of Manassas, VA, Susan Fessenden of Nashua; five grandchildren, Ethan Fessenden, Payge Fessenden, Taylor Johnson, Gavin Parker, Faith Parker: two great grandchildren, Haisley Little and Warren Nelson.

He was predeceased by his brother John M. Fessenden of Meredith, NH who died last year and his brother-in-law, Kim Santerre of Virginia who also passed away last year, and two nephews, Thomas Salisbury and Michael Salisbury both of Brookline.

Mark was active with sports while their children were involved as a coach and umpire for Brookline Little league, Brookline Softball and Hollis – Brookline Middle School Softball programs.

For over twenty years he was a member of the Brookline Fire Department, retiring at the rank of Captain. He continued to serve his community as a member of the Fire Ward(s) and was an Honorary Member of the Brookline Fire Department.

Mark had a special interest in preserving Brookline history and dedicated his time keeping the antique fire trucks in running order. He was a member of the Brookline Historical Society.

Mark’s family will receive relatives and friends at calling hours from 3- 7 PM Thursday June 4, 2026 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Main Street, (Rte 119) Townsend Center. www.andersonfuneral.com.

Graveside services will be held 10 AM Friday, June 5, 2026 at Pine Grove Cemetery, Pepperell Road, Brookline..
