Elizabeth Jane Biga

Elizabeth Jane Biga, 90, of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on November 18, 1935, daughter of the late Joseph Gayeski and Helen (Velikaie) Gayeski. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Biga, with whom she shared over 58 years of marriage. The couple got married on September 6, 1958.

Elizabeth grew up in Pennsylvania and was a graduate of Swoyerville High School. She later attended the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998. Elizabeth and Joseph relocated to New Hampshire from Massachusetts, where she opened Elizabeth’s Art Gallery in Nashua. Elizabeth was an incredibly talented artist who found great joy in sharing her passion for art with others, especially through teaching children. She was the author of the book “Art From The Heart”.

In addition to her artistic talents, Elizabeth was a gifted seamstress who made clothing for herself and her sisters. She also sculpted dolls incorporating her love and spirit in their beings. She enjoyed shopping, especially for dresses and special outfits for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Above all else, Elizabeth treasured the time she spent with her loving family. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Nashua.

In addition to her parents and her beloved husband Joseph, Elizabeth was predeceased by her sister, Nancy Galiszewski.

She is survived by her four children, John Biga; Karen Weeks and her husband Brian; Joseph Biga and his wife Kimberley; and Joyce Biga and her husband Brian Clark. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Jillian Biga, Jonathan Weeks, Anna Roberts, Joseph Biga, Robert Biga, Dianne Biga, Michael Clark, and Cassandra Clark; eight great grandchildren; and her loving sister, Patricia Hughes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Parish, 216 Dunstable Rd in Nashua. Burial will immediately follow at St. Louis Cemetery. Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend. The Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH 03064, has been placed in charge of arrangements.
