Gladys (Moore) McCoy
Gladys (Moore) McCoy, 89, of Nashua, widow of Daniel G. McCoy, III, passed away Friday morning, April 24, 2026 after a period of declining health.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts on November 8, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy S. (Lorman) Moore. Gladys grew up in North Chelmsford, MA and graduated from Chelmsford High School Class of 1953. She later attended Rivier College now Rivier University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education.
In addition to raising her family, Gladys was a teacher with the Nashua School District and taught at Main Dunstable Elementary School for twenty years.
Gladys and her family enjoyed spending time at their cottage at Franklin Pierce Lake in Hillsborough, NH.
Besides her parents, Gladys was predeceased by her husband, Dan, who passed away March 31,2011. The couple were married in December 4,1960 and had shared over 50 years together.
She was also predeceased by her brother, Bob, who passed away April 23, 2025. They lost their mother at a young age and had a very close and caring relationship.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Fairview Inn Hudson, NH for the care, kindness and support they provided to Gladys over the past several years.
Members of her family include her son, Daniel G, “Chip” McCoy, IV; her daughter, Deborah L. McCoy and her grandson, Daniel G. McCoy V.
Gladys will be laid to rest with her husband at Sherburne Cemetery in Tyngsborough, MA. A private burial is planned.
