Dorothy “Dottie” Dolbeare

Dorothy “Dottie” Dolbeare, 80 passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, at Hackett Hill Center in Manchester. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Helen (Morton) Dolbeare. At the age of one, Dottie moved with her family to Nashua, where she spent most of her life.

Dottie was educated in the Nashua Public Schools and graduated from Nashua High School with the Class of 1964. Following graduation, she worked at J.F. McElwain Shoe Company and later at Kollsman Instruments before retiring from Glidden Auto Service.

Dottie had a deep love for animals and treasured all her pets throughout her life. In her younger years, she enjoyed camping, traveling with family, and visiting northern New Hampshire and Maine. She was fun-loving, adventurous, and always ready to join in any activity with family and friends.

After the loss of her beloved golden retriever, Rusty, Dottie devoted herself to helping animals in need. She became a dedicated and ambitious volunteer with the Humane Society for Greater Nashua, where she volunteered for more than ten years. Caring for those animals meant the world to her and brought her great joy and purpose.

Dottie will be remembered for her kind heart, her love of animals, and the happiness she brought to those around her.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Rita Dolbeare of Nashua; her nieces and nephews Donna J. Snow of Nashua, John C Dolbeare of GA, Michael Dolbeare and his wife Rosemary of Goffstown, Susan Pothier and her husband Rick of Nashua, and David Dolbeare of Concord, NH; as well as several cousins, and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Dottie was predeceased by her brothers John Dolbeare and Edmund Dolbeare; as well as all her beloved dogs over the years.

Family and friends are invited to Dottie’s Funeral Service on FRIDAY June 5th at 1:30 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES,21 Kinsley Street, Nashua.
