In Loving Memory of Priscilla “Anne” Griffin
Priscilla “Anne” Griffin, a woman of unwavering faith and vibrant creativity, passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2026. Born on July 25, 1937, in Cranston, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna Sloan.
Anne’s life was anchored by her devotion to Christ. Known as a woman of prayer, she possessed a true gift for encouragement. Her family and friends will forever cherish the cards she sent, each filled with heartfelt writing and her signature artwork. To be greeted by Anne was to be showered with sincere compliments–a reflection of a heart that truly wanted others to feel seen, loved, and valued.
An artist to her core, Anne was rarely seen without a pencil, pen, or crayon in hand, sketching on whatever paper was within reach. She possessed a rare sense of wonder, finding divine beauty in the everyday: the song of a bird, the playfulness of a dog, the roar of the ocean, or the delicate complexity of a flower. Her artwork–ranging from garden cottages and nature scenes to the faces of her children and grandchildren–captured the world as she saw it: a masterpiece of the Creator.
Anne was a devoted mother of five, a proud grandmother of 11, and a cherished great-grandmother to a growing legacy. She leaves behind by her children: Cheryl (Richard) Bragdon of Creedmoor, NC; Peter (Darla) Griffin of Nashua, NH; Michelle Chapdelaine of Londonderry, NH; Kathleen (Michael) Karwowski of Hudson, NH; and Ellen Pierdominici of Brookline, NH.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, John Paul Griffin, Jr.; her sister, Lucy Golden; her brother, James Sloan; her son-in-law, Kevin Chapdelaine; and her great-granddaughter, Brielle Griffin.
A Celebration of Life will be held on her birthday, July 25, 2026, at Gate City Church in Nashua, NH–a community Anne loved dearly. Friends and family are invited to gather at 3:00 PM, with a service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to support relief efforts in Ukraine. Contributions may be made to “Hope and Life Ukraine” and sent c/o Gate City Church, 8 Franklin St., Nashua, NH 03064.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to those who helped fulfill Anne’s wish to remain at home: Brookhaven Hospice, Crotched Mountain Community Center, Guardian Home Care of NH, and the many dear friends who served as loving caregivers.
Anne’s warmth, her sketches, and her unwavering faith will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the family she raised, the notes of encouragement she left behind, and the beauty she captured through her art.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 8:38-39
