Kevin Ralph Maxwell

Kevin Ralph Maxwell, 60, of Mason, NH, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and Chief of Police in Mason, passed peacefully April 11, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.

Born in Brunswick, Maine, in 1966 to Ralph and Choral (Murray) Maxwell, he was raised in New Boston and Amherst and attended Milford Area Senior High School.

In December 1988, he married Christine Longval, whom he lovingly called his “bride.” They made their home in Milford and welcomed five sons, enduring the loss of their youngest, Isaiah, in 2010. Chief Maxwell devoted his career to law enforcement in New Hampshire, serving in Brookline, Milford, Lyndeborough, and Mason, where he led as Chief. He also served as a chaplain for many years. Known for his deep faith, compassion, and ability to connect with others, he offered kindness, prayer, and encouragement to all. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially motorcycle rides and time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Christine; four sons: Joshua (Cindy), Cote (Meaghan), Christopher (Alicia), and Levi (Katelin); eight grandchildren, with two expected; his parents; siblings Ronda, Scott, Keith, and Kerri; close friend Barbara Devore; and many extended family members and friends.
