Richard “Dick” Reda
Richard “Dick” Reda, 83, of Nashua, New Hampshire, a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with COPD.
Dick found his greatest joy in time spent with family and friends. He loved long rides in his Jeep and trips to the beach for his favorite Tripoli Pizza. He was immensely proud of his five children and cherished his role as a grandfather.
He honorably served his country, first spending four years in the United States Marine Corps,
discharged in July 1968, and later enlisting in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, where he helped build the highway through the DMZ. He was honorably discharged in 1970 and received multiple medals and commendations for his service.
He was predeceased by his dog, Scamp; his mother, Claire Gentile; his father, Anthony Reda; and his brother, Robert Reda.
Dick is survived by his sister, Antoinette Knott and her husband Peter of Georgetown, MA; his five
children – Rick Reda and his wife Anne of Hampton, NH (children: Trevor, Amy [Trevor’s fiancee], David, Michael, Benny, and Channing); Ronda Reda Chrystal and her husband Jay of Brookline, NH (children: Cameron and his wife Shae Chrystal, and Kyle); Randy Reda of Belmont, NH; Shannon Reda of South Carolina; and Darcy Reda of Nashua, NH (and her dog Bailey) and extended family.
A private memorial service will be held for siblings and grandchildren. A public Celebration of Life will be held at Sea Glass, 4 Oceanfront North, Salisbury, MA, on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or the American Lung Association, Donation Processing Center, PO Box 70360, Philadelphia, PA 19176-0360.
