Paul F. Murphy
Paul F. Murphy, age 74, of Litchfield, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1951, Paul is the son of the late John J. and Margaret M. Murphy. The family relocated to Nashua when the FAA Center opened in 1963 where his father was an air traffic controller.
Paul is survived by his wife of 48 years, Anne E. (Roy) Murphy; his brothers, Robert L. Murphy of Madisonville, Kentucky, and Kevin P. and his wife, Sarah, of Tucson, Arizona; nieces Letitia Mello of Tucson, Sara Murphy of Houston, Texas, Hannah Pickard and her husband, James, of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandniece Allison Mello and grandnephew Andrew Mello of Tucson, Arizona, along with extended family and dear friends.
Paul dedicated much of his professional life to the aviation industry, working with Precision Airlines, Air New England, and All Star Airlines. Following the events of September 11, 2001, he continued his service in aviation security by joining the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). He took pride in his work and was respected for his reliability, experience and commitment throughout his career. Paul retired from TSA on 04-01-2022 (definitely his sense of humor) after 20 years of service.
Paul lived life on his own terms and was known for his straightforward nature, sharp wit, and dry sense of humor. He spoke his mind with candor–often with a sarcastic edge–and had a unique ability to tell great stories that brought laughter to those around him. He left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him, and in his spirit, we’ll keep this simple… just the way he likely would have preferred.
Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of Paul on Saturday, April 18th from 10 a.m. to Noon at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua. A brief prayer service will be held in the funeral home to conclude his visitation.
Interment will take place at a later date at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity. To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.farwellfuneralservice.com.
Paul will be deeply missed and forever remembered, though he would probably remind us not to make too much of a fuss.
