Florence T. “Terry” Haven

Florence T. “Terry” Haven, 94, a lifelong resident of Nashua, passed away peacefully on March 23 at the Inn at Fairview in Hudson. Born on May 12, 1931, in Nashua, she was the daughter of Raoul and Rose (Lamore) Cote. Terry was educated in Nashua and attended Infant Jesus Elementary School and graduated from St. Louis High School, class of 1949.

Terry met her husband Theodore Slosek while in high school when they both worked at Brockelman Brothers Market in Nashua. They were married on October 14, 1950. Terry and Ted shared 18 years of marriage before his passing on December 20, 1969, She was remarried to Arthur E. Haven who also predeceased her. Terry was also predeceased by her brother, Dr. Normand Cote. She was a devoted wife, Mother, Memere, sister and friend whose warmth, strength and sassiness touched many lives.

For many years, Terry worked as an assembler at Sprague Electric, where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. After Ted’s passing, she channeled her entrepreneurial spirit into owning and operating Flowers by Theodore on Main Street in Nashua. Terry learned the florist business from the ground up and together with her family and wonderful employees, she built the shop into a thriving enterprise. Terry first ‘retired’ in 1995 when she sold Flowers by Theodore. She then went to work at Flowers on the Hill where she stayed for a number of years until she really retired.

Terry had a deep love for life and for the people around her. She especially enjoyed traveling and cruising, always eager to go anywhere if it meant spending time with loved ones. She also cherished her casino trips, which brought her great joy and laughter. Known for her fondness for Fireball, lobster and ice cream, Terry embraced life’s simple pleasures with enthusiasm.

A natural storyteller, Terry always had a story to share and a way of bringing people together. Her hardworking nature, spirited personality, and love for family and friends will be remembered by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

She is survived by her children Deborah (Slosek) Stinson and her husband Greg of Hudson, and Timothy Slosek and his wife Rebecca of Mebane, NC; her four grandchildren Robin Deary and her husband Liam Hales of Nashua, Kyle Slosek and his wife Erica Sturkie of Austin, TX, Trevor Slosek and his wife Bekah of Mebane, NC, and Audra Grice and her husband Kevan of Mebane, NC; her great granddaughter Bailey Grice; her step-grandsons, Tyler and Jonathan Stinson; her sister Bernice Thomas of Nashua; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to Terry’s visitation on MONDAY, April 20th from 10 AM until 12 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVCIES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua.
