Alvin N. Cote
Alvin N. Cote, 92, died peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at the Community Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of Francine (Dion) Cote with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Alvin was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on January 1, 1934 and was the son of the late Adelard and Irma (Grandmaison) Cote. He received his education from University of New Hampshire where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in economics and finance and is an Air Force Veteran.
Alvin spent many years doing work he truly loved as a meteorologist for MassPort. With a deep passion for weather and a sharp, inquisitive mind, he took great pride in his role, contributing his expertise to an environment where accuracy and dedication mattered every day.
Alvin found great joy in traveling, whether close to home or across great distances, from cherished summer days with his young family at Newfound Lake, to a memorable anniversary trip to Hawaii with his wife, Francine, or the breathtaking beauty of the Canadian Rockies. In later years, he and Francine spent 17 winters in Ormond Beach, Florida, enjoying life as snowbirds. Alvin was also a pitcher for the ward league in Nashua and a devoted Boston Red Sox fan. Above all, he treasured time with his family, who were the center of his life and whom he loved deeply.
In addition to his wife, Francine of Nashua, he is survived by his children, Alfred Cote of Nashua, Christopher Cote and his wife Sylvie of Manchester, and Louise Cutter of Nashua; his five grandchildren, Todd Cutter of Nashua, Spencer Cote of Manchester, Andrew Cote and his wife Joanne of Litchfield, Michael Cote and his wife Shayna of New Ipswich, and Stephen Harris and his wife Andrea of Lowell, MA. He is also survived by his seven great-grandchildren, Madison, Evelyn, Abagail, Leah, Emma, Alec, and Aiden as well as his sister, Claudette Warrington of VA and his brother Norbert Cote and his wife Debbie of Nashua as well as many nieces and nephews.
Sadly, in addition to his parents, Alvin was predeceased by his brother Ronald Cote.
